Just want to say thank you

Posted by Anonymous at June 03. 2008
I've spent hours looking for useful free tools to analyse my software projects. I used to use nProf 0.10 but the output was quite hard to read. EQATEC Profiler provides me instantly with the information where I've got to make speed improvements and where it would be a waste of my time. The testing version output runs rally fast - I feel no difference in speed to the original version. I'm really glad to have found this software, want to congratulate you for your good work and most of all thank you for giving it away for free!

One thing however that stopped me (maybe also others) at first from trying your software: I somehow got the impression it was for Compact Framework only. I had already downloaded it when I thought "oh no, it’s just for CF" and didn't install it. Luckily I got your review reminder, bringing me back to your homepage and seeing my misinterpretation.

I'll definitely recommend your software (starting with my blog)!

By the way: I'm a student, developing applications for fun and a cloth shop company (~70-80 employees). My biggest project is some software to plan time schedules for employees. Since "completing" it I’m adding new features randomly.

Kind regards
Michael Kutsam

Now, this is the kind of feedback we like :)

I'm glad you came back to give it another go. (BTW, this "review reminder" you mention is not something we're posting but it sounds interesting. Did you download the profiler from a download-site and received a reminder from them?)

We actually redesigned our download-page last week to get this particular point clearer across: that it's not just useful for .NET CF, but also for full .NET apps.

Until recently we thought of it almost exclusively as a .NET CF profiler, but then we saw the other existing free profilers for full .NET - and discovered that our profiler was probably just as good as them. Your story seems to prove that point. So thanks for sharing it, and thanks for telling the story on your blog.

regards,
  Richard
